Artist's Profile

Collage Philosophy is Nicole Strafaci. Originally from Westfield, New Jersey, I currently live in Los Angeles. I received a B.F.A. in photography from Montclair University in New Jersey in 1994 and studied art abroad in Italy and Holland. I have exhibited my work in L.A., Florida, NY, NJ, and Holland. I sell my wearable art to various boutiques in the U.S. and also from my web store at collagephilosophy.etsy.com. Balancing different jobs to support and fuel the artistic mix; I am a freelance figure and costume model as well as an artist. My modeling work at such places as Art Center College of Design, Cal Arts, Disney and DreamWorks provides experience as a muse while connecting my love of clothing with that of movement and line as well as my secret love of performance.
My creative life continually explores and reinvents itself by experiencing new genres. I believe that the artist's work is inseparable from the artist's life and therefore everything is fuel for creative output. A compelling book, a stimulating conversation, the search for materials; all are seeds or notes for painting, drawing, sculpture, and design.
